Afghan Development Association (ADA) founded on 31st October 1990. After establishment ADA had several consultation with various donors to obtain support to work inside Afghanistan rather than continue its activities for Afghan refugees in Pakistan. To implement multi-sectorial rehabilitation and development projects that are designed to foster self-reliance and self-sufficiency, in addition, empowering Afghans to meet their future needs while creating the socioeconomic condition that promote peace, stability and repatriation.

The development cooperation between Afghanistan and Switzerland started in the seventies of the last century. The projects of that time were situated mainly in the agriculture sector, including animal husbandry and fabrication of cheese. With the Soviet invasion of the country, these programme had to be abandoned. Throughout the eighties and nineties, it made place to Humanitarian Aid programmes, supporting Afghans in Afghanistan as well as Pakistan and Iran through multilateral channels such as UNHCR, WFP and ICRC. The focus of this programme – steered from the Cooperation office in Islamabad – was the assistance to refugees and internally displaced people. Starting 1997, Switzerland was actively participating in the Afghanistan Support Group (ASG), a donor coordination mechanism that existed until 2001.

The CJTF is dedicated to bringing to justice, drug traffickers and others who violate Afghanistan’s counter-narcotics law.
The CJTF is part of the Afghan government’s wider strategy to crack down on the evils of the criminal drug trade.
The CJTF is helping Afghanistan fulfill its international commitments – the Government has signed the UN Convention against the illegal trafficking of illicit drugs as well as the UN convention against corruption.
The CJTF and international donors have a major programme in place for fast-track capacity building, to strengthen a counter narcotics criminal justice system

Management Information system (GeoBase) is to track program and project information for all mission-funded activities. The purpose of this database is to track and monitor development projects, while maintaining coordination between Government of Afghanistan, Donors and implementing partners. This reporting process supports the Government of Afghanistan's requirement.
